Thursday Tarot Tips: When a "Bad" card is "Good."
You drew a "bad" card, but you may not be doomed!
We’ve all been there. You’re happily laying out the cards when suddenly, a “bad” card appears in the middle of the reading.
Am I doomed??? You may wonder.
First of all, no. No one is ever doomed…even if their Tarot reading is full of so-called baddies! There is always an option for change.
But more importantly, there are no truly “bad” cards in the Tarot.
Of course, there are some cards that can indicate misfortune and chaos in many circumstances…but not all. Also, some of the “good” cards (ones that typically mean health, wealth, or love), may not be good in all circumstances. But since we’re talking about the stereotypically “bad” cards, below are three examples of worrisome cards that can have good meanings in the right context.
But first…listen!
I had the INCREDIBLE opportunity to talk about my work and practice on two EXTRAORDINARY podcasts (both of which you should subscribe to immediately!):
The Circle Is Podcast With Rachel True and Mat Auryn. Get ready for an emotional and laughter-filled rollercoaster ride. I sit down with actor Rachel True (The Craft, Half-Baked) and author Mat Auryn (Psychic Witch) to chat about Sacred Tears. We dive into the complex world of grief, discussing a wide range of experiences—from the loss of a loved one to the heartache of breakups and the pain of losing a friend and explore the many ways people handle grief, offering practical advice on how to support others through their darkest times and how to navigate those awkward "What do I do or say?" moments without sticking your foot in your mouth! It was such a wonderful interview!
I sat down with Granddaughter Crow of Belief, Being, And Beyond to talk about Sacred Tears, grieving, and the gift of anger. Belief, Being, and Beyond: What you Believe constitutes how you Behave in the world. But there is always something more - The BEYOND! Let's talk to people with a variety spiritual belief systems, perspectives, approaches, and backgrounds in order to sate our curious minds - "What else is out there?"
Here are three examples of “Bad” cards that can have good meanings:
The Devil:
Facing A Fear
Taking control of something (e.g., personal agency)
Embracing a part of self that others have shamed you for
Death:
The ending of a painful chapter
Creating closure
A peaceful conclusion
10 of Swords:
The worst is over, a new day is dawning
Rest (because you can do no more!)
Alternative healing (it has appeared in some of my readings as acupuncture)
